Connection to Server

Another thing that may come as a shock to you crabtree13yg is that current writing rules in all the languages which use the Latin alphabet REQUIRE you to use punctuation (periods, commas, semicolons and such).

People EXPECT them when they are reading, because without them the text seems to be flowing from a pipe; it overwhelms the reader’s eyes/brain.

While accepting the complete lack of said punctuation may go without saying when trying to decipher Sumerian tablets or Egyptian hieroglyphs, well… I’m sorry to break it to you but your post is no where near raising the same level of interest, that might justify someone’s effort to understand your writing.

Chapeau, Wiz!

… but do you think that he’ll understand what you just said?? :stuck_out_tongue:

I did start it as a new topic but for some reason it was added to this one, even so it was a simple question that required a simple answer not some sarcastic comment made by people who seem to never actually help in answering questions

Danny, your last post was this…

I am unable to log in i’m guessing because of a server connection problem but also i am not able to download anything or start new downloads, any advice or help would be muchly appreciated.

Dan

Now, let me explain something - yes, the question was simple, but the answer that you were seeking could have been one of many. It’s like going to the doctor’s office and saying, “I don’t feel well. Can you help me?” The doctor is not going to be able to do that, without much, much more information (eg- “Do you have pain? Nausea?”, etc.).

Well, when you try to give support to over 67 thousand active members on a daily basis, in an international forum (such as this one) in various languages and find yourself needing the same **basic **(but essential) information (the same as the doctor) from each of them, you end up writing up a list of questions that the members should be able to provide upon their very first post. If they don’t do this, a lot of valuable time is lost unecessarily, asking for said information, over and over and over again.

In your case, the person who posted directly above you was told to start his own thread and provide said information. Then, for whatever reason, your post shows up asking almost the same identical question…

Now, put yourself, in our shoes, for a moment… you are all volunteers who donate your scarce free time, in order to try to give free support for a free program and every night, after you get home from work, you read through a gizzillion posts that don’t even provide you with a starting point, such as the Windows version that they’re using, their version of BitComet, whether they’re using a router (or just a modem), etc., etc., etc. . How/where/when would you even start to offer them help, if you knew absolutely nothing about them or their individual setups? Do you see the dilemma now?

I did start it as a new topic but for some reason it was added to this one

No DannyParr, you did not make a new topic, you make a reply to an existing topic. If you didn’t know how to use the forum, then you should have asked.

it was a simple question that required a simple answer

It’s not a simple question if you don’t bother to tell us what windows version, bitcomet version, type of internet connection or any of the other required info. If the question was so simple that someone could answer it without knowing anything about your computer, then why would it even need to be asked.

some sarcastic comment made by people who seem to never actually help in answering questions

You’ll find we are very good at answering questions when a user tells us enough of the information that is needed, unlike you, who only seem to ask unanswerable questions for lack of information.

Obviously you can’t seem to get it through your head that we cannot help you if your to lazy to spend 30 seconds reading the rules for making a support request, so as I told you last time you posted, this was your last chance.

Frankly, I’m amazed that you can reply three times, yet each time you provide none of the info needed to help you. I’m not sure if your just some sort of internet troll that likes to start drama, or if your just unable to understand clear and simple instructions, but it’s now a moot point being you’re no longer permitted to post here.

Edit: Actually danny, after reviewing all your posts, I can see you did ask a simple question in another topic…

Is it a problem with my software or is the server down as a whole.

So I’m sorry we didn’t answer that question. The answer is “No”, the servers and software are working quite well.

We assumed you were actually asking for help in getting your system working, in which case you would have needed to provide the basic info we require of everyone making a support request, so judging by your reaction to our attempts to help you, it proves the saying…

No good deed goes unpunished!

DannyParr seems to be nothing more then a troll. I disabled his posting privileges.

Topic cleaned up and unpinned, as it’s a very old issue and not relevant to any current login problems.

thank you beby
