Dark Theme

I think Dark Theme should be a good update  what do u think guys?

Not bad. I also love dark theme as well.

Remember guys, the devs work on this in their spare time - no-one is paid so non-critical upgrades will have to wait while other, more urgent, things are fixed

Hello!

I would like that as well, please! Dark Mode and the option to remove the Tray icon...

Np, we can wait patiently. As long as this IS going to happen. ā¤ļø

No-one ever said it would or wouldn’t happen. Unfortunately my crystal ball is broken

Since ā€œthe Dark Themeā€ seems to be in vogue, lately, I thought I’d ask everyone that is requesting/suggesting this feature…

Are you asking for a Dark Theme to be added to the BitComet _**client,**_ (as in [this](/topic/12801231-feature-request/) thread), or are you asking for it to be added to the _**Forums**_ (this same thread)?

"What", you might ask, "is she talking about?" Well, since they are threads for different things (one is the **_*client*_** and the other the ***_forums_***), all I'm asking is "Did you post in the proper place/thread?" šŸ¤”

A dark themed BC client would be grand, sadly I fell asleep a bit ago while it was running. And the icons got burned into the screen, and this time I think it will stay, likely a few pixels are fried. But even off white, or low grey. So it’s not actually trying to create ā€˜white’ light. Hugely power intensive, and it generates bunches of heat.

Granted it's no one's fault but mine for leaving the monitor on with the program open. And for reference anyone interested, it is a 30' HD Monoprice monitor(a bit generic for a slightly lower price. You wouldn't know at first(I didn't) that this particular one does have problems with ghost images getting burned into it. And since the only option is white I have to run a black background to soothe the pixels becoming pitched out. If you don't want to write a bunch of code for that, try just moving the background color from 'Default star engine light', to a shade less bright, one or two shaded colors from pure white.

I can pass along more info on the monitor if you(i.e. anyone) feel like asking, it was reasonably priced and has worked wonderfully for a number of years. I had just thought that specific issue was more a relic of the past. Like it went out with standup arcade games. I'm old af. 😜 From a time before gaming at all, no computers, and rotary phones, no touch tones yet for a few years.

A dark theme won’t help there - what you need to do is to automatically shut down the display (it’s in Windows Settings) after 5 - 10 minutes of inactivity.

Actually, 5 minutes shotdown is default, so I'm guessing you disabled that
