Foreign script

Under Information on the Display screen I have some foreign script which I can’t remove.

It hits me in the face and I want to remove it. How do I do that please?

For some time I was seeing a box telling me that if I needed foreign script I should click here, or some such text.

I didnt want it, I kept trying to cancel the box and now looking back I think I may have pressed an Accept

instead of a Cancel

Does anyone recognise this.

I just installed 0.71 and have the same problem. Under the “Information” tab it displays it in Chinese, so windows pops up with a m essage if i want to install the language pack, why is it in chinese in the first place?

I have exactly the same problem, after upgraing to 0.71. My “Prefences” language is English but the Information language is Chinese. From "Summary’ to “Statistics” is all in English. When I right-click on Information>Encoding>More there is no English, just a list of foreign languages. Any help will be appreciated.

We are aware of a bug in version .71 relating to simular issues, until this is resolved, I suggest you install version .70

Not really because their is no 7.0. :stuck_out_tongue:

And yes in 0.71-0.73 some people have had the chinese language turn on. Its a bug. Funny thing is that the only reported bug I didn’t experience. I guess its because I set my legal copy of Windows to American :smiley: that I’m ok.

So where do I stand now? I’m on 0.73. Its still there. I’ve no clue as to how to get rid of it.

Send a screenshot. I can take a screenshot but dont know how to post it here.

Revert to 0.70 I could do that too, but would that remove it.

Read the FAQ Naturally I went thru there before I posted, and Search for foreign script.

I said I’d got Foreign Script. I didnt mention a different language. I’ve a red bordered box, the first few letters are O with a roof accent, U with a cute accent, u with a tail on the front leg, A with 2 dots on top,

E with 2 dots, N with tilde, E with 2 dots, then a division sign…

dardruba uninstall what ever version of BC you have running. Then install and run this free app CCleaner to clean out any left over trash. Then go ahead and install 0.70. You should be fine. You can download 0.70 from here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=NE6P0ZPF

Done. Followed your procedure but couldnt do the download from megaupload so I used FileHippo.

Hope your download didnt contain anything different.

I neglected to record my Preferences so I’m now working thru your settings check.

If you got a copy of BC 0.70 from Filehippo thats fine. :slight_smile:
