mpcstar 5.0 Problem with mpg file

hi

mpcstar 5.0 does not response with mpg file that decoded with mpeg 2.0

installed codec klite last version

please help

Because your message doesn’t specify, I’m unclear as to which you are reporting.

Are you trying to open mpcstar by executing the mpg file?

Or are you trying to Open the mpg file from within mpcstar?

The former would be a problem with windows file associations, not mpcstar. The latter could be a problem with mpcstar, but we’d need more details on the file/s your trying to open.

hi

of course i’m trying to Open the mpg file from within mpcstar

mpg file is file video recorded from satellite card with program Mytheatre which produce mpg file (Video: MPEG2 Video 720x576 (4:3) 25.00fps 2369Kbps [Video] Audio: MPEG Audio 48000Hz stereo 128Kbps [Audio])

mpcstar 4.9 work fine but when i update to mpcstar 5.0 it hang with no responce

i thought the problem with ffdshow video decoder but it’s not.

so can you help

Does MPCStar lock up? If it does not, you should look under the FILE menu, at the FILE INFO item, to see what MPCStar is using to handle the file and what it thinks the streams are. This should at least provide useful information.

hi

mpcstar 5.0 does not response with mpg file that decoded with mpeg 2.0

please help

Having the same problem with .VOB files not playing and freezing mpcstar since upgrading to 5.0. Tried uninstalling, re-downloaded 5.0, and reinstalled. Problem persists. I have gone back to 4.9 and all is well.

a vob file is usually mpeg2 also, so this should be helpful information for development.

Hi

no one reply me why?

Hi,

If version 5.0 is unable to play your mpeg2 video, then I suggest you revert back to the previous version.

If the problem is with mpcstar itself, then it’s development team will need to address the issue with a product update. I cannot say how long that will take, but it will be announced when one is available.

thanks for reply

Hi ossama2007, we could not reproduce the problem, does your MPCStar 5.0 has problem when playing all your mpeg 2 files? If you have the source of the file, can you please send it to me? So the development team can test it. Thank you.

here you are

ossama2007,

If you intended to post a link, or a file attachment to this post, it didn’t work. Please either upload a sample of the video (if it’s a small file), or provide us a link to where we can get it to test. If the file is relatively small, say 20MB or less, then you can upload it to a site like Fileden.com, badongo.com, rapidshare.com, megaupload.com, or other. If it’s 2mb or less you can upload it direct to this forum.

Note that most torrents contain a very small “sample” of the video content, so you won’t have to edit the video or upload a very large file.

hi

here you are

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QI0AOPW9

thanks again

I confirm this. VLC 1.17 will play this file. MPCStar 5.0 will not, and it caused MPCStar to crash.

I can also confirm that it works with Media Player Classic (MPC-HC 1.3.1976.0)

Thanks for providing this. That should be all the development team needs to fix the problem. For the meantime, I can only suggest you revert to a prior version and check the release notes when a new version is released.

Lucy, if you can’t access megaupload, let me know and I can send you the file on msn.

Thank you for the link, ossama2007, the development team will test the problem.

Thank you TuuS, we can access the link, and the team has started testing it.
