old account having log-in trouble

I had an old account with the user name puttachinku, and now I’m not able log-in with to that account,

according to your instruction I put my email ID and since forgot the password I want to reset it, but It’s impossible :frowning: you login system sends me a mail to reset only comet ID password not the normal ID

but I was able find solution, I just checked my old e-mails and there was a notification of PM from unusual suspect, I clicked the link for replay which gave me this error ‘[#10226] You are not allowed to use the private messaging system.’ form that page I was able to reset my password using password recovery link in that page…

and even now i wasn’t able to log-in to my previous account…

If I put my username and the password I just got, it says error password

if I put my email ID and the password I just got, it says error password

only my comet ID works,and My comet ID is puttachinku but after log-in user name turned to ‘puttachinku2’(may be because there is already an account, my old account, with the same name)

my comet ID username and the username i used to register in this forum are one and the same, ‘puttachinku’

for comet ID and normal registration in the forum I used the same email ID

please help me out, is it possible to merge or integrate my old account with the cometID?

I sent you an email with a temporary password for your old account. It was sent to the email address used to register that account.

Make sure you log out of this account before you attempt to log in with the other.

It doesn’t work still giving me the same error…but how to log-in without using comet ID? because ultimately sign-in link, leads to comet ID sign-in :frowning:

and here if I put username as puttachinku, and the password you gave. it gives me the same error…:frowning:

It seems when you created the comet ID with the same name, it created a endless loop, locking out of your old forum account. I can try renaming your old forum account, that might fix it, but now that your comet ID has that name, you can’t log in with it, without it translating to the new account.

If you want your old account renamed, send me a PM with the new name and I’ll try it tomorrow.
