One of the features of CometBird that I detest is the Search Tab/Open in Tab feature. When you search for a word or term in the smart search bar a new tab opens each time. You can not begin a new search in an existing tab with out making a modification.
Here’s how you can alter what I call the search tab feature in CometBird.
The result will be a Search Result in Same Tab
-
Type about:config in the search bar.
-
Click on the ‘I’ll be careful, I promise!’ button.
-
Type browser.search.openintab into the ComitBird search field.
-
Double click the browser.search.openintab field.
-
It should now read False.
The end result is when you enter a search into the smart searchbar the search will not automatically open in a new tab. The search will open in an existing tab.
