Port Blocked (Yellow Light)

Hi,

I have used bitcomet for about a year and everything was Ok and I could forward ports easily but since 2 days ago I can’t forward any port and I get yellow bulb and it says port blocked. I don’t know what to do. My windows 7 firewall is off. I can make screenshots if it is needed. PLEASE HELP ME.

I’m using Bitcomet 1.40

ADSL internet

Modem : Green Packet Model " IX350p

I have only one router

I use windows 7 firwall : off Antivirus : Nod32 v6

You can try and forward your port manually.

I couldn’t find on the internet a specific tutorial for your model, but I guess the GUI does not differ too much: http://portforward.c…35/BitComet.htm

This tutorial – http://wiki.bitcomet…uter_setup_page – explains to you entirely how to forward your port, but you need instructions for your specific router to accomplish this.

I already had done this but still ports are blocked.

Do you have a modem and a router interconnected?

Do you have a modem and a router interconnected?

I don’t know. I use a wireless modem

first make sure you aren’t using Mobile broadband, aka wwan, cellular broadband, 3g/4g, etc. If you are certain your internet is a dsl type, then you need to confirm you only have one router. I couldn’t find your model on "green packet"s website, but it looks like they make both modems and routers and devices that are both.

If you have two or more routers it can be complicated, also if you have multiple firewalls or security software all of them must allow incoming connections on bitcomet’s port. There are also some firewalls that cannot be turned off and must be uninstalled to prevent them from blocking ports.

I am sure that I have only one router. I’m also sure that I have forwarded ports on my router.I only have nod32 antivirus and windows firewall (which is off).

Here is the list of my programs :

I’m also sure that I have forwarded ports on my router.

Well then, if you’re that sure that your ports are forwarded properly, test your listen port at canyouseeme.org . Any result other than

“Success”, means that something (most likely a firewall that you’re unaware of) is blocking your traffic.

So how can i know what is blocking my ports since windows firewall is disabled?

This is the programs currently running in my windows autorun.

I attached the arn file of my autorun here. you can open the file with this program : https://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx

Using this file would you please check if there is any program or firewall that is blocking my ports?

Thanks

If you say your ports are forwarded, and Windows Firewall is off.. I see a few programs that connect themselves to the internet in order to make updates.

But my main suspicion is ESET32’s Firewall. You may need to add a rule to allow BitComet to access the internet. Try and follow this tutorial: http://support.eset.com/kb2623/?locale=en_US

Remember to restart BitComet after you apply the rule!

I use eset smart security 9 and my eset firewall is off : http://uploads.im/u1AHv.png

Which programs should i uninstall from the autorun?

I think the following programs might cause interference.

If it still doesn’t work, choose a port that is not reserved for any TCP / UDP service. You can find a full list with reserved official and unofficial ports here. Just make sure BitComet doesn’t listen on any of those ports.

Did you try at canyouseeme.org? What was your result?

You’re not telling us what actions/tests you have tried and their results… you’re asking us to blindly find your mis-configuration and “fine-tune” your computer’s setup… which is not what we do in these forums.

We are here to help as many users as possible who may or may not have the same problem as yourself, but we are not here to “customize/fine-tune” a user’s configuration for him… that is something that the user should attempt to do himself (or ask of a charitable tech-savvy friend / hire a college IT student to do for him).

are you using a vpn service?

I tried canyouseeme.org and it says I could not see your service on that port : http://2.1m.yt/3RSoiOw.png
