If you are able to bypass your schools security and download, assuming it’s against their rules, a good network admin could easily detect your usage and possibly suspend your usage, or worse.
If you still want to try, you may be able to download by disabling your listening port, but slowly. You might also try nat transvarsal, and using a proxy for tracker comunications.
However, if you agreed to not use p2p filesharing, then ask yourself if its really worth it.

Ive checked with the network admin services, and they say that BitComet isn’t on the banned list of programs so its allowed to be used on the network, but I may have problems finding an open port.

It would help to be a lot more specific about what the problem is.
When you have active torrents, look at the trackers tab, and notice what responses you’re getting. Look at the seeds/peers columns and see what they’re saying. Look at the peers tab and see what that’s saying.
