Hey Ive read the guide for maping a port to an ip address, because I do have a router. I went through these steps several times and I’m still getting a port number stealth and slow connection speeds. anybody have any suggestions?
Port-forwarding instructions are intended to open a port in your router’s external firewall, but that may not be the only firewall you have. Your listen port must be opened in all of them. You should also determine whether you are behind someone else’s firewall, which may be blocking you. This depends on the sort of internet connection you have.
Try bypassing the router and connecting your computer directly to the modem. (Remember to change your settings to match your ISP’s requirements for this test.) Run BitComet and test your listen port again. If it is now open, the problem was the router and you will need to do your configuration again, checking each step carefully. If it doesn’t work, you have a firewall somewhere that is still blocking the port, and you will have to find it. If it is external and imposed by your ISP, you will probably not be able to get around this.
Man I just remembered something… Im running router to router. So should I map the other routers IP to the same port? Let me know. Thank you for the reply I cant run my modem straight to this computer. Wish I could.
You will need to configure both routers properly
