I got a letter from my internet provider that they gave the movie company Thomas Films LLC my address & then I got a letter from them saying I was part of the lawsuit against downloaders from bit comet for the movie The Thompsons in the state of Oregon. Is there any help from bit comet on this?
These are usually done by “Copyright Trolls”, it’s a type of frivolous lawsuit that attempts to extract settlement fees from as many victims as possible before the lawsuit eventually gets dismissed.
However, BitComet does not support using their software for illegal purposes, nor is your IP blocked when using bittorrent downloading.
Furthermore, this is a BitComet user forum that is staffed by bitcomet users. Any official comment from Bitcomet would need to come directly from official channels in China.

If you bought a knife and, instead of cutting your bread or meat with it, you stabbed somebody, would you be wondering if there is any ‘help’ from the knife factory, in the matter of a lawsuit?
Thank you The UnUsual Suspect as the info you gave me helped tremendously. I contacted one of the local lawyers & they are helping me out. They say the lawsuit I was hit with is a partial scam so they just lost out on $3800 settling out of court. Again thanks for the help/info.
