I am new to all this and it seems that most uploaders are going with .264 format.
I can download it fine but it won’t play. I have downloaded several players but
nothing will play these yet. I need help, Is there a specific player or a set of codecs
that will enable me to play .264. Appreciate any help given.
You need what is called the Advanced Video Codec, and the Advanced Audio Codec (AVC and AAC). These are included in the Combined Community Codec Pack, which also has other goodies in it
Videolan’s stand-alone VLC Player doesn’t rely on system filters and uses its own. It’s a very good player and will handle just about everything.
