UPnP is a scheme to (in this case) allow an application to configure your router automatically. Most of the time, for most systems and most routers, it does not work. I don’t recommend that anyone use it.
UPnP is the left-hand side. The right-hand side is to manually configure your router, which is much more reliable. To do this, first disable UPnP in your BitComet preferences, then visit Portforward.com, and see the instructions for your particular router and for BitComet. Do not skip or overlook the part about setting up a static IP address, as many people do and then wonder why it’s not working.
