@ Bob: They did release 3.6, but they’re still going to update 3.5 for people who didn’t upgrade to 3.6 for whatever reason. I’d say mainly add-on compatibility issues.

There are currently 3 supported version of firefox, 3.0.x, 3.5.x, and 3.6.x. 3.0.x will be dropping soon, but support for 3.5.x will continue for at least the next 6 months. This is normal practice. Firefox 2 was supported for 6 months after firefox 3 was released.
